Step Forward
If the saying is “two steps forward, and one step back,” be sure to step forward again. We may think we’re reverting to old behaviours, thoughts, or patterns, though get back at it and recommit to improvement.
A friend and I went out today. We had some food at Wendy’s after finding out that another shop was closed. After the meal in her car, we went to Superstore to get a few grocery items.
I appreciate the grace and forgiveness of my friends, yet sometimes, I need to remember where I’ve come from and recall the positive and sound elements of my character that have been there all along. We each hold qualities that are good for others, so the hope is we step forward and share those elements of ourselves.
I’m thankful too to have a few friends I can talk about deeper issues and dig into myself for my truths. If I didn’t step forward and admit I want to process, improve, and heal, I likely wouldn’t advance. As is, I commit and recommit to the process of building WITH people. For me, it’s the right choice.
I ask you to step forward with your life. Some may be making big moves and are taking action, yet I’m sure some of you also may be afraid to step forward and state your claims of what you want. Step forward. Let people know you like and appreciate them (if you do) and trust yourself to bring good and that you’re valuable as a human. It may be difficult to admit you deserve good things, yet when you find yourself amongst them, remember you helped create that situation. You are building your life, and you can choose how and what you want to develop.
