Commitment and Collaboration

Tonight, I write this super quickly before rushing out the door. I have a small window of opportunity to see a movie and also get this post, my daily journal post, and my daily TikTok. My friend Matt gave me some grace and time to do this, so I need not do it later, thereby saving (or earning?) me an extra 15–20 min of sleep tonight.

Earlier in the day, I attended the start of BTS, a Jack Canfield program. I got the ticket for the event yesterday and found it was today (Friday) and Saturday, Sunday. I was supposed to work my job today and did, though I also stepped forward by asking for the day at home from my boss. I maintained my responsibility to perform my job (honouring my boss) while also asking for what I wanted (voicing my preferences). The day has worked out well, just a bit bundled together timewise.

I attended the last two hours of the event and earned $100 by working my job. I missed out on the entire event, yet I also think I handled the situation well by a) asking for what I wanted, b) honouring my promises to another, and c) having a good attitude even when I didn’t get what I want.

I also am happy I can go out with friends to see a movie and get this post made. It’s been a day of collaboration and maintaining my commitments while also doing more of what I want to do.

8.4/10 today. And for such, I’m glad.
